Students lead Holocaust Memorial assembly

Last week two of our Yr 12 students led the Holocaust Memorial assembly to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp. Every year 27 January is recognised as Holocaust Memorial Day.

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust works to raise awareness of the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and the subsequent persecution and genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

The students were part of the “Lessons from Auschwitz” programme to raise awareness. They prepared tutorial resources and a survey for students to complete in sixth form and the lower school to promote the need to remember and learn from the past.
